Bio:
Jesús Ibáñez Martínez is a Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC) at the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain.  He received a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Murcia, Spain (2004). Amongst others, he was granted a Marie Curie fellowship at the Centre for Virtual Environments at the University of Salford, Manchester, UK.  He is co-founder and co-chair of the series of International Conferences on Intelligent Virtual Environments and Virtual Agents (IVEVA). He has edited special issues of several international journals. He served as a member of the Technical Program Committee for several conferences and as reviewer for several international journals.

During the last years, he has been researching several different aspects in the intersection of intelligent systems, virtual environments and human computer interaction. The aim of his work is to both simplify and achieve a more natural interaction with computers and amongst users.
